Residents of Winterbourne and surrounding areas opposed to any development of Hicks Common Road and this area of the Frome Valley.
Waddeton Park has made an outline planning application for the erection of up to 124 dwellings, and associated infrastructure, on land east of Hicks Common Road.
This is the land opposite Winterbourne Duck Pond. We know that, like us, many residents will be very concerned about this potential development.
It was heartening to see local residents making their opposition heard, with 800 objection made to the Council planning department.
Save Frome Valley Community Group (SFVCG) are a group of local residents who are determined to help maintain and enhance the open character of the Frome Valley Horseshoe (the Green Belt land between Rectory Road, Frampton Cotterell and the Huckford Viaduct in the Frome Valley) and to oppose inappropriate and harmful development.
SFVCG are monitoring the Waddeton application as it is processed by South Gloucestershire Council Planning Department. We also consider any other activity in the Frome Valley Horseshoe, as described above. As well as this, this whole area is under threat from development. If you are concerned about this, we encourage you to make your feelings known to politicians. You can find out who your local MP is here – Find your MP – MPs and Lords – UK Parliament
